Decide if this is a career for you
Dental Nursing is a tremendously satisfying occupation, because you are the vital link between the patient and the dentist. It is suitable for outgoing people who enjoy interaction with the general public and as health care professionals dental nurses command community respect and esteem. When completed the dental nursing Diploma will open up an exciting range of career prospects within the dental industry. There are no formal entry qualifications but students are expected to have a good command of English language. To be successful dental nurses need to be conscientious and methodical in approach and exhibit a high degree of professionalism.
Check your availability
If you are not already working in a Dental Practice you are required to begin practical experience within 3 months of the course starting. The School of Dental Nursing can help you to find employment in a dental practice which is normally full time. If you are attending face-to-face classes you will need to be present one day per fortnight which can be on a weekday or a Saturday. Alternatively you can study the theory part of the Diploma course online which allows you to plan your study time flexibly.
Funding the course
There is a course fee which can be paid for by affordable instalments and you will not accumulate student debt. As you will be paid by a dental practice as a trainee dental nurse your salary will offset the fees.
Choose the study mode
As mentioned above you have two options - You can either choose to study:
Online - where you can study at your own pace and have continuous access to our learning resources. This saves time and travel costs.
Face to face - a traditional classroom-based course in small groups (maximum 15) held normally twice a month over one year at our campus in London or at one of our regional centres.
