First Aid at Work – CPR and Basic Life Support

We have provided First Aid at Work courses since 2006 and therefore have extensive experience in ensuring that our students receive the tuition and learning support that will enable them to achieve success. Our record of student achievement has been consistently above the national average and many of our students have gone on to enjoy exciting and fulfilling career in the dental sector of Health Care.

This is an accredited ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ Level 2 course, which has validation period for 3 years.

Duration: 6 hours

  • Responsibilities of the First Aider
  • First Aid Kit, clearing accident and reporting procedures
  • Identifying signs & symptoms of medical emergencies
  • How to check for breathing
  • Assessment of injuries
  • Placing casualty in recovery position 
  • Resuscitation of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Choking & Major Bleeding
  • Fractures & Broken Bones
  • Shock Management & Spinal Injury Management
  • Major Illnesses
  • Introduction to the Automated External defibrillator (AED)

  • You must be 18 years of age or above.
  • Whilst qualifications are not essential, applicants with GCSE qualifications (Grades A*-C) in Maths and English would be at an advantage.
  • We are required to screen all our candidates and will have to take part in a basic literacy test and a short interview. You will be invited for an assessment prior to acceptance on to the course. You will also have to be a British citizen or living in the UK, EU or hold ILR student visa. You must be able to meet the basic physical and mental requirements for working in a dental practice.
